L'Armée de l'Air Malagache (The army of the Malagasy Republic)
uses a square variant of the national flag with the white band takes half
of the square. The national flag of red and white for the Hova tribe and
green for the Indian Ocean was used as a fin flash, and in roundel form
on wings and fuselage. Often only the fin flash is used.

[cos98] shows the fin as square version
of the national flag, as shown above, and says that
often the roundel is absent and only the flag on fin is painted.

I don't consider the yellow border as part of the roundel.
It seems that l'Armee de l'Air Malgache (formed 24 April 1961) used
either only a square fin flash (also with yellow borders (see this
page) or only the roundel (see image on this
page).
